Description

Leading for Change is a leadership development program that trains program administrators, educators, and family child care providers on how to lead for change and quality improvement in their practice, program, or in the field. The program is taught in the style of a professional learning community, making it a highly interactive learning environment where you work with peers to develop your leadership skills. In addition to the classes, participants will be asked to complete an out-of-class-time leadership development activity, and several class discussions will be based on short readings or videos to be read or viewed before class. Leading for Change is taught in two sections of seven sessions each totaling 15 hours. Each of the 2 sessions also required 5 hours of course work outside of the synchronous sessions. The first section begins this spring. The second section will be open to anyone who completed the first and will start in the late summer/fall. In this section of the program you will learn about how you can lead for change to improve program quality and promote equity in early care and education. In the second section you will dig deep into a specific area you would like to change and build a plan for how you will make that change a reality.
